Lille refuse Liverpool recall for Origi

16 October 2014 - 23:36

Ligue 1 outfit Lille have ruled out Divock Origi's return to Liverpool in January, The Express reports.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • The Belgian international joined the Reds from Lille over the summer, and was subsequently loaned back to the Ligue 1 outfit for the season.

Having not placed a recall clause in the player's loan deal, Rodgers was believed to be hopeful of convincing Lille into letting go of the talented striker by the New Year.

However, Lille director Jean-Michel Vandamme has revealed that it is 'impossible' for Origi to join the Merseyside giants in January.

"It's impossible. He will stay here until June." He said.

Liverpool are currently ninth in the Premier League.
