Oscar signs new Chelsea contract

Chelsea winger Oscar has signed a new contract extension with the English club that will keep him at the Stamford Bridge till 2019.

  • The 23-year-old joined the Blues from Brazilian side Internacional for 19.35 million GBP in 2012 and scored 12 goals in his debut season winning the Europa League.

    He has since then made 126 appearances across all competitions for the Pensioners and scored on 27 occasions, out of which four goals have come this season.

    He has been an integral member of the side under Jose Mourinho, and the player is delighted after committing his long term future to the Fulham based club.

    “I have enjoyed playing here for two years and now I have five more, so I am very happy“, Oscar was quoted as saying by the BBC. “I am so happy because I love playing for Chelsea and living in England”, the Brazilian international added.

    The attacking midfielder has also earned 40 international caps for the five time world champions and has 11 goals to his name. He was also a part of the squad that finished fourth in the World Cup at home this summer.
