Manchester United are reportedly readying a January offer for Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen, according to The Mirror.

The Belgian international is understood to be considering his future at White Hart Lane, having been benched by manager Mauricio Pochettino for much of the league campaign.

According to The Mirror, the former Ajax star will seek new pastures elsewhere in the upcoming transfer window.

The report adds that the Red Devils could get their hands on the experience central defender for a fee of around £18m in the New Year.
