Premier League high-flyers Southampton are understood to be interested in signing Heracles Almelo winger Edwin Gyasi in the winter transfer window, The Mail reports.

The 23-year-old is regarded highly by Saints boss Ronald Koeman, who worked with the player during his time managing AZ and Feyenoord.

According to The Mail, Gyasi is considering a move to the Premier League in the New Year, having fallen out of favour at his current club.

The report adds that Championship leaders Derby County could make an offer of their own for the talened winger.

So'ton are currently second in the Premier League.
