Liverpool executives are locked in talks with Steven Gerrard over a new contract, but the 34-year-old club captain has yet to have even hinted that he will stay at Anfield at the end of the season.
Rumours suggest that Gerrard is looking for a move away from his club at the end of the season and that he is considering a move to America, to link up with Frank Lampard and Thierry Henry as a part of Major League Soccer.
Gerrard was left on the bench in yesterday's 1-0 win over Stoke City, surprising many fans with his omission. But some believe manager Brendan Rodgers decided to rest the former England international as no progress over a new contract has yet to have been made with his club.
Liverpool are said to be looking to offer Gerrard a new 2 year contract until 2016.
