Manchester United are reportedly readying an offer for Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin, according to The Telegraph.
The Uruguay international played a crucial role in the Basque club's La Liga triumph last season after an 18-year wait.
The Telegraph claims that the talented defender is high on the radar of several top clubs in Europe. The report adds that United could start the bidding war with an opening offer for the 28-year-old when the transfer window reopens in January.
Godin's current deal at Atletico reportedly has a £28.5m buy-out clause.
