Liverpool striker could make a return to the Serie A with Inter Milan, according to The Express.
The Italy international joined the Reds from AC Milan over the summer as a replacement for Luis Suarez.
However, Balotelli has failed to hit the ground running, and is yet to score a league goal for the Merseyside giants this season.
The Express reports that Balotelli could be tempted into a reunion with former boss Roberto Mancini at the San Siro.
In addition to this, Mancini is understood to have chatted with the 24-year-old over the phone regarding a temporary move in January, with an idea of a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
Balotelli is currently recovering from a groin injury.
