Manchester United are understood to be preparing a club-record offer for one of La Liga's best, The Star reports.
Wales international Gareth Bale joined Los Blancos from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2013, and has thereon helped the club clinch the Champions League title.
According to The Star, United boss Louis van Gaal is keen on bring the talented Welshman back to the Premier League in the New Year as he prepares to boost the club's midfield options.
The report adds that United will make a tempting offer of around £90m to seal the player's services in the winter transfer window.
