Arsenal have contacted Real Madrid over the possibility of signing defender Sergio Ramos in the winter transfer window, according to a Spanish source.
The Spain international's current deal expires in the summer of 2017, with speculation suggesting that the 28-year-old is in no hurry to sign a new contract.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is understood to be a huge admirer of the Spanish defender, and AS journalist Manuel Esteban Manolet has claimed that the Frenchman has made an enquiry with Los Blancos about the player's availability.
"Wenger has called Rene Ramos, the agent and brother of Sergio Ramos," He said.
