Bundesliga club Schalke have revealed their interest in signing Serbian defender Matija Nastasic from Manchester City, according to a report.
The Serbian international has failed to cement his place in the first-team at the Citizens this season, and is considering his future at the club with the transfer window close approaching.
According to German sports daily Bild, Miners chief Clemens Tonnies has confessed the club's interest in the talented defender.
“Yes, we are chasing his (Matija Nastasic’s) signature,” He said “Our manager, Roberto di Matteo, has eyed him for his plans. And the player definitely wants to join our club, too.”
City are currently second in the Premier League.
