Manchester United are reportedly readying a shock swoop for Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos in January, according to The Star.
The Spain international has been with Los Blancos since 2005, helping them lift three league titles, two Copa del Reys and the Champions League.
Ramos has yet to agree on a contract extension to his current deal which expires in the summer of 2017.
According to The Star, the 28-year-old is eager to find a fresh challenge before calling quits to his career.
The report adds that United are keen on securing his services and will have no problem matching the player's valuation in the New Year.
