Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal could make a January offer for Everton defender Seamus Coleman, The Guardian reports.

Coleman had been constantly linked with a switch to the Red Devils over the summer, until the club opted to sign Daley Blind.

However, with Blind on the injury list, Van Gaal is keen on signing up a new defender, who could provide stiff competition to the Netherlands international for the right-back spot.

According to The Guardian, the Red Devils will make a bid of around £20m for the talented defender in the current transfer window.
