Arsenal have reportedly made an official bid to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, according to The Independent.

The German international had been constantly linked with a switch to the Premier League over the summer, with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United interested in his services.

The Independent claims that the 24-year-old will leave Signal Iduna Park in the current transfer window with his existing deal at BVB set to expire at the end of the season.

In addition to this, the Gunners have made a bid worth £15.6m for the talented central midfielder, and the transfer is likely to be finalized between the parties involved in the coming days.
