Valencia have reportedly rebuffed an offer from Manchester United for defender Nicolas Otamendi, according to Fichajes.net.

The talented defender joined the Mestalla last winter from FC Porto and has since then been a regular in the first-team setup.

United boss Louis van Gaal is believed to be keen on boosting the club's central defensive setup, and Fichajes claims that the club had made a bid of around £26.8m for the Argentine's services.

The report adds that Valencia have rejected the offer as it is well below their valuation of the player.
