West Ham United centre-back Winston Reid has apparently told the club's hierarchy that he wants to join the Gunners during the winter transfer window.

According to The Mirror, the Gunners have been on the search for a new centre-back in January and consider the New Zealand as one of their main targets.

Reid is currently valued at £8m at the Hammers, but Wenger is confident of signing him up for half the price before the closure of the transfer window.
