Arsenal's newest signing Gabriel Paulista hopes that moving to the Premier League will boost his international opportunities. The defender joined last week from Villarreal.

  • The Brazilian is in line to make a debut against Aston Villa this weekend and is hoping that he will one day play alongside either Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny on a regular basis.

The Arsenal move is sure to improve his chances of playing for Brazil's national team and he told reporters: “To get in the Brazil squad would be sensational and perhaps, now I am at Arsenal, I will have more chances to do that.

"With a lot of hard work and effort it will be possible to fulfil my dreams. I am a realistic person and I have come to Arsenal to help, to work and to learn, because I am convinced it is very difficult to triumph in the Premier League.

“In the days leading up to my move I was obsessed with it – if it was not possible I would have stayed at Villarreal and waited for another chance. But now I am here I promise to work, work and work.”
