Former Arsenal and Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant has joined Championship strugglers Wigan Athletic until the end of the season.
The talented winger left Stoke City following the expiry of his contract last summer, and was last seen taking part in the inaugural Indian Super League with Pune FC.
Having seen the Latics suffer from count-less injuries in recent weeks, manager Malky Mackay has opted to sign Pennant in hope of beating the drop from the second tier of English football.
Pennant made seven appearances for Pune FC this season.
