United boss Louis van Gaal will look to bolster his squad in the summer, and the need for a top-class midfielder remains a top priority.

According to Metro, the Red Devils could swoop for the services of Patrick Hermann for a bargain fee of just £10.8m as his existing contract concludes at the end of next season.

Hermann has scored 13 goals in 33 games for the Bundesliga outfit this season.
