West Ham United could rebuff the chance to sign on-loan Barcelona midfielder Alex Song at the end of the season, The Mail reports.

  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game

  • The former Cameroon international started off the season in fantastic fashion, and kept the club in the top-four until Christmas with his excellent midfield displays.

However, he has since then been caught with the pace of the game, and a permanent deal is now hanging in the balance.

According to The Mail, the Hammers are pondering over a permanent contract for the former Arsenal man due to weekly wage structure of £80,000, which is considered expensive for a player who has not done much since the turn of the year.

Song's current deal at Barca expires in June 2017.
