The Italian international has struggled to cement his place in the first-team football at Anfield since his move to the club in 2013.

Metro now cites that the former Roma man is keen on a return to Italy next season, with Lazio being deemed favourites to land his services.

Borini has scored a solitary goal in 16 games for the Reds this season.
