Manchester City look set to sack Manuel Pellegrini and hand over the managerial reigns to development squad manager Patrick Vieira for the rest of the season, The Mail reports.
The Chilean manager has struggled to replicate last season's success where he helped the Citizens win the Premier League as well as the Capital One Cup.
According to The Mail, the club's hierarchy have offered enough time for Pellegrini to turn around the poor campaign, and the 4-2 thrashing at arch-rivals Manchester United is likely to get him the axe.
City are currently in fourth place in the league standings, having lost their last four away games.
