Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has revealed that he would be interested in securing the services of Mario Balotelli from Liverpool this summer.
The Italian international joined the Merseyside giants from AC Milan last summer, as a replacement for Luis Suarez who left the Reds from Barcelona.
However, he has since then failed to find the net on a regular basis and finds himself out-of-favour under Brendan Rodgers.
Ferrero in an interview with Gazzetta TV, admitted that he would have the former City star at the club in spite of his lack of goals this season.
"I'd sign him.If he came to Sampdoria, he would come back to his usual standards. Here nobody would bother him if he missed a goal, he would be quiet and happy." He said.
"In my opinion he's not hungry anymore, he earns €4m (£2.9m) a year. We should put him on bread and water, give him a Bianchina rather than a Ferrari. Then I'm sure he would score again."
