Newcastle United will reportedly look at signing Queen Park Rangers' Charlie Austin in order to lure Steve McClaren to takeover the managerial reigns.
The Magpies owner Mike Ashley is believed to have given the green light to sign Austin for a fee of around £10m this summer, The Mirror claims.
The report adds that the club will look to tempt McClaren for the managerial spot, should they manager to capture Austin's signature in the off-season.
Birmingham City's Garry Rowett has also been linked with the St James' Park hotseat.
