Aston Villa are to table a bid for Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert. The forward will make a move to join the Villa Park outfit when the transfer window reopens.
Lambert has struggled for regular first team action since his dream move to Anfield and is now set to be shipped out on loan at the end of the calendar season. The striker has told colleagues at Anfield that he is desperate for regular first team action and will leave Liverpool to find it. With uncertainty over the future of Christian Benteke at Villa, Lambert could offer a high calibre alternative.
