Liverpool representatives are understood to have travelled to Italy to hold talks with Inter Milan's Piero Ausilio over a summer move for Mateo Kovacic.
Kovacic has been constantly linked with a summer move to the Premier League, with Chelsea keen on landing his services.
However, Calciomercato claims that the Reds have jumped the ship, and have met with the Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio regarding a possible move for the Croatian international this summer.
Kovacic scored eight goals in 43 games for Inter this season.
