Nicolas Anelka joins Mumbai City FC as player-manager

03 July 2015 - 09:10

Nicolas Anelka will ply his trade in the Indian Super League with Mumbai City FC as player-manager next season.

  • Man Utd planning to replace Erik ten Hag after FA Cup final
  • Eddie Howe emerges as managerial target for Chelsea

  • The former France international plyed his trade for Mumbai City FC last season, but was unable to contribute regularly due to the lack of match fitness.

However, it has now been confirmed that Anelka has rejoined the Mumbai outfit as a player-manager.

Former Arsenal striker Fredrik Ljungberg was the club's marquee player last season, but that role has now been given to the Frenchman who will pocket an increased wage package.
