Eddie Howe emerges as managerial target for Chelsea
Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has emerged as a potential candidate to become the next Chelsea manager.
The Blues recently confirmed the departure of Mauricio Pochettino from the helm. The Argentine walked away by mutual consent.
The west London outfit are unlikely to go for a marquee appointment and prefer a young manager with plenty of potential.
Howe has done a good job at Newcastle over the past few years and his name has been discussed within the hierarchy this week.
Aside from the Magpies boss, the Blues are also looking at Ipswich Town's Kieran McKenna amid his exceptional work there.
McKenna left his coaching role at Manchester United to manage Ipswich. He has guided the club to back-to-back promotions.
This has largely enhanced his CV and it has been reported that he could be released from his contract for a modest £6 million.
Ipswich will be hoping that McKenna stays with them, considering they will be huge underdogs to avoid the drop next season.
