Kezman leaving Fenerbahce?

Kezman leaving Fenerbahce?

30 December 2007 - 18:25

Mateja Kezman could be set to leave Fenerbahce after several clubs have made enquiries for his services in the January transfer window. Among some of his potential suitors include Hamburg, Roma, Schalke 04 and Fulham.

  • Dutch star has travelled to London for Chelsea medical
  • Chelsea to focus on signing Dutch attacker after Hato

  • The ex-Chelsea striker is valued by the Turkish side at around £6 million and has not found the net as often as hoped in the Turkish Super Lig.

However, Hamburg's sporting directors have already approached Fenerbahce about the possibility of a January transfer move; with a loan offer being considered with a view to a permanent move.

Fulham's new coach Roy Hodgson is also looking for new talent in January and Mateja Kezman has already experienced the Premiership with local rivals Chelsea and brings a proven goalscoring record to the club.

Kezman's agents are scouring for a move for the Serbian; who is reportedly unhappy in Istanbul.

“I still have a contract with Fenerbahce and know that the club are happy with me. I scored important goals last year particularly in the Cup and the Champions League” Kezman said.

“However, I think you can only play in the Turkish league for a certain amount of time. I miss the top European leagues. It was the same with Nicolas Anelka in his time here. He left Turkey after only a short while.”
