Mats Hummels rules out Borussia Dortmund exit

08 July 2015 - 14:45

German international Mats Hummels has revealed that it is a honour to be linked with a club of Manchester United's pedigree, but he will remain at the Borussia Dortmund for at least another season.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The World Cup winner was linked with a move to the Premier League in May, with the Red Devils speculated to be interested in his signature.

However, Hummels has squashed the rumours by insisting that he is happy plying his trade for BVB, and will stay at the Dortmund giants for the upcoming campaign.

"There have always been rumours about almost every one of our players, but I decided not to make the move this year," he told in a press conference.

"Of course when the big clubs are interested, and Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, it's an honour. But I decided I wanted to stay here."

Hummels current deal at BVB expires in the summer of 2017.
