Spain international Sergio Ramos has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.

However, Los Blancos have clearly stated that they will not allow their star defender join the Red Devils in any kind of deal.

According to Spanish daily Marca, Ramos' could be handed the captain's armband for the upcoming campaign following the departure of legendary goalkeeper Iker Casillas to Porto last week.

Should Ramos accept to lead the side, it is most likely to end United's pursuit of the defender.
