Cole has been a consistent performer for the Hammers in recent seasons, but his failure to find the next on a regular basis has led to alot of criticism from te club's faithful.

The 31-year-old is a free-agent following his release from the East Londoners earlier this summer.

According to The Mirror, Ranieri is keen on adding new recruits of his own this summer, and wants Cole to be the first signing of his reign.
