Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that the club will smash the British transfer record for a defender to acquire the services of John Stones from Everton this summer.

The England international is understood to have asked Everton\'s officials to let him discuss a summer move to Stamford Bridge with Mourinho.

Widespread reports cite that the \'Special One\' will make a mega-offer of around &pound34m to prise Stones away from Everton during the summer transfer window.

Stones joined the Toffees from Barnsley in 2013.
