Southampton are lining up a summer bid for Hull City defender James Chester, The Mirror reports.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman is on the look out for a new central defender after Florian Gardos suffered a long-term injury.

According to The Mirror, the Dutchman sees the former Manchester United graduate Chester as the perfect fit to fill the void at St.Mary's next season.

Hull City currently rate Chester at around £10m.
