Man Utd boss hints at De Gea exit?

27 July 2015 - 05:56

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has iterated that the club have signed Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero as a potential replacement for David de Gea.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • Romero joined the Red Devils on three-year contract following his release from Italian side Sampdoria earlier in the summer.

Van Gaal has now insisted that the De Gea's future is still uncertain at Old Trafford, with Spanish giants Real Madrid tracking the goalkeeper's situation in recent weeks.

He added that the club opted to bring Romero, with the knowledge that they would need a quality shot-stopper for the new season, should De Gea make way during the summer transfer window.

De Gea's fellow countrymate Victor Valdes has been told to seek a new club this summer, following his refusal to play in the reserves.
