Arsenal have beaten their rivals to the signing of Ajax striker Donyell Malen on a scholarship deal.
The 16-year-old striker was attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United in the transfer window but it is the Gunners who have acquired his services.
Ajax youth coach Win Jonk stated that it was a big blow to lose the highly-rated youngster at such a young age.
"Donyell is a great talent, and it is extremely unfortunate that he is leaving Ajax," he told Ajax's official website.
"We have made him an excellent offer and presented a clear development plan. If the player still makes another choice, it is disappointing."
