German international Mario Gomez has joined Turkish giants Besiktas on a season-long loan, with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the 2015/16 campaign.

The talented frontman has struggled to cement a spot in the first-team at Fiorentina in recent seasons, mainly due to a series of injuries.

Besiktas has now revealed via their official twitter account that they have acquired the services of the former Bayern star on a temporary basis for the new season.

Gomez scored only 14 goals at Florence since his move from Bayern Munich in 2013.
