Manchester United defender Rafael da Silva has reportedly arrived in France ahead of his proposed switch to Lyon
The Brazilian international struggled for game-time last season, as manager Louis van Gaal preferred Antonio Valencia ahead of him for the right-back role.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed via twitter that Rafael had arrived for the medical, describing the full back as "cheerful".
Rafael joined the Reds Devils from Brazilian side Fluminense in 2008.
