Newcastle United have dropped their interest in Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin, according to a report.
The Magpies were thought to be keen on a sealing a deal for the talented marksman, who scored 18 league goals for the R's last season.
However, The Star now claims that the Tyneside outfit have opted against a move for the 26-year-old, as they are unwilling to match the player's £15m valuation.
It is added that Steve McClaren's side will turn their attention elsewhere as they seek to bolster their forward options.
