Manchester United have decided not to pursue a move for Athletic Bilbao centre-back Aymeric Laporte this summer.
It is thought that United boss Louis van Gaal had sent the club's scouts to have a look on the talented defender during Bilbao's 1-1 draw against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup on Monday night.
According to Manchester Evening News, the Basque outfit are reluctant to settle for anything less the player's £36.5 buy-out clause.
It is added that the Red Devils have cooled down their interest in the 21-year-old, but may make an offer for the player's services come the end of the 2015/16 campaign.
