Valencia could make a move for Zenit St. Petersburg star Ezequeil Garay before the transfer window closes.
The Argentine international had been on the radar of the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United earlier this summer.
According to Spanish daily AS, Los Che have identified the central defender as the perfect replacement for fellow countrymate Nicolas Otamendi, who is closing in on a move to Manchester City.
However, Los Che's move for Garay could hinge on whether they secure a spot in the Champions League group stage this season.
Garay was part of the Argentine side that lost to Chile in the Copa America final.
