The Netherlands international had a great time at Swansea City during his two-year loan spell between 2012 and 2014.

According to the Chronicle, the Black Cats are keen on bolstering his midfield setup having lost their first two games of the new league season.

The reports adds that Dick Advocaat's side will look to sign De Guzman, after top target Leroy Fer failed a medical at the club.

De Guzman was part of the Swans' team that won the League Cup in 2013.
