Everton will reportedly make a move for Shakhtar Donetsk star Bernard after they pulled out of the race for Andriy Yarmolenko.
It had been earlier reported that the Toffees were closing in on the services of the Ukrainian international for a fee of around £17m.
However, The Mirror now cites that the Merseysiders have decided to look elsewhere, after they failed to agree on a transfer sum with Dynamo Kiev for the talented playmaker.
The report adds that the club will now look to land the signature of Bernard, who is understood to be unhappy with life in Ukraine.
