The Ivory Coast international struggled to make an impact during his two-year spell at the Gunners, and was sold off to the Serie A giants in 2013.

He has since then got a new lease of life at Roma, where he has been sensational form in recent seasons.

The Express now claims that the FA Cup holders had made a shock approach to re-sign the African star.

It is added that Roma had swiftly rebuffed the offer insisting that the player is not for sale.
