David de Gea move to Real Madrid falls through

01 September 2015 - 03:06

Spain international David de Gea will remain at Manchester United after Real Madrid failed to get the necessary paperwork done before the 11pm Spanish transfer deadline.

  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players
  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts

  • The 24-year-old had been reported to have agreed to join Real Madrid in a £29m deal which would have seen Costa Rican shot-stopper Keylor Navas move to Old Trafford.

However, Spanish journalist Guillem Balague has now revealed that La Liga did not receive the paper work to complete the deal before the transfer deadline.

"The documents did not arrive on time!!!!!! Presentation was ready. All agreed. But as it stands de Gea stays at MUFC!!" he tweeted.

De Gea is likely to make his way back to the United first-team following the disappointment.
