The Red Devils are thought to have failed with a club-record bid of around &pound88m for the German international over the summer.

According to Fichajes.net, United will try to sign the talented attacker in the New Year as they seek further reinforcements in the attacking setup for the ongoing campaign.

Muller graduated through Bayern's youth setup in 2008 and has since then gone on to score 127 goals in 309 games for the club.
