Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere looks set to spend at least two months on the sidelines after he suffered a hairline fracture in his left leg.
The England international is yet to feature for the Gunners having sustained the injury during pre-season.
It has been earlier reported that the talented playmaker could return for Arsenal's home encounter against Stoke City last week, but Arsene Wenger confirmed in a pre-match press conference that the 23-year-old could be out for much longer than expected.
PA now claims that the club will ensure that the player undergoes a surgery to overcome the problem.
Wilshere has made just 48 league starts in the past four seasons.
