Louis van Gaal wants James Wilson stay

Van Gaal to reject loan offers for Wilson

Louis van Gaal wants James Wilson stay

19 September 2015 - 06:13

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has admitted that he may be forced to keep hold of striker James Wilson due to the lack of striking options.

  • Mauricio Pochettino confirms fresh injury blow for Chelsea star
  • Arsenal want to make four marquee signings this summer

  • The young striker has been linked with a potential loan exit from the club, with the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Derby County and Cardiff City keen on his services.

However, Van Gaal has cited that he cannot let the 19-year-old make a temporary move, with Wayne Rooney being the only senior centre-forward in their ranks.

"We have to consider that. Can he play like last season without many playing minutes? That is not good for him," he told Goal.com

"But, of course, the injuries for Manchester United are above all other interests so we have to consider that again."

Wilson has yet to make a Premier League appearance for United this term.
