08 January 2008 - 23:00

West Ham are chasing Portsmouth's out of favour striker David Nugent for a fee of around £5 million. Harry Redknapp has insisted hte player may have a future - but only now several players have headed off to the African Cup of Nations.

  • Chelsea ready to pay €75m for Eduardo Camavinga
  • Chelsea planning move for Strasbourg striker Joaquin Panichelli

  • Pompey only signed the Former Preston man in Summer of last year but it hasn't been the most successful spell for the England international as he has failed to make most starting elevens behind Kanu and Benjani.

A move to West Ham may see the 22 year old have more playing time and reproduce the form which saw him stand out in the Championship for Preston. It is thought that he will cost The Hammers around £5 million.
