Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat has insisted that he will make way from the club, should they find a suitable candidate to carry them forward.
The 64-year-old took over the managerial reigns at Wearside in mid-March and helped the Black Cats beat the drop from the Premier League.
Advocaat had a change of mind there in and decided to come out of retirement to sign a new one-year deal with the Black Cats.
However, his return spell has been a disaster which currently sees the club rock bottom of the league with just two points.
According to The Mail, the Dutchman has insisted that he is open to resigning from the head coach role, if someone else would do a better job.
He added that his focus for the time being is to keep the club aloft in the top tier.
