The Cameroon international is expected to seek a fresh challenge away from Marseille once his contract runs up at the end of the season.

However, French publication L'Equipe claims that Jose Mourinho's side will look to seal a cut-price for the talented centre-back in the winter transfer window.

The report adds that Marseille would be willing to do business with the Blues as they do not want the player to move to a league rival.

N'Koulou joined the Ligue 1 giants from AS Monaco in 2011.
